Mazda recalls 19,000 more vehicles

CAPE TOWN, South Africa — Mazda Motor Corp. is recalling 19,000 vehicles in South Africa attributable to airbag security considerations because the Japanese carmaker extends a world recall to cowl a wider manufacturing interval, its native unit mentioned on Monday.

The recall was prompted by investigations in Japan and North America for 3 several types of Takata Corp. manufactured airbags over security considerations that inflators have been faulty.
The U.S. Nationwide Freeway Visitors Security Administration mentioned in July that new testing prompted Takata to declare 2.7 million airbag inflators defective in Ford Motor Co., Nissan Motor Co. and Mazda Motor Corp. vehicles.
Takata airbag inflators have been linked to 17 deaths and more than 180 accidents worldwide, and the recalls will ultimately cowl about 125 million inflators.
